Hey Everyone! A good friend of the Lafayette Pinball League, Mark, has purchased a brand new Aerosmith pinball machine from Stern Pinball. He is having two launch tournaments this coming weekend. Friday’s launch party is from 5PM-11PM central time zone at his arcade, Chicago Street Pinball Arcade, in Joliet, IL.

I got to stop by and check the game out yesterday and was really impressed with how the game played so I strongly encourage anyone looking for something fun to do Friday night to go and check it out. Mark also has around 30 other pinball machines at the arcade as well including Wizard of Oz, Rob Zombie Spookshow International, X-men LE, White Water, and many others that we don’t have access to around Lafayette and its all you can play for $15 with a few of the games there on loan costing $1 to play, or 3 games for $2.

Hey Guys, a friend of mine Erik Wurtenberger from Kentucky is hosting a tournament on June 10th at his house. It is limited to the first 40 players that register. Erik is a great guy and has played in a few of our tournaments as well so many of you have probably already met him. It should be an awesome event and I encourage anyone interested in competitive pinball to give it a shot. Nice solid turnout for Week 1 of the 2017 Spring Season! Thanks especially to our new members Andy, Joe, and Terry. It was really nice to have some new blood out there and I hope you all had a good time during your first week. Below are the full results for the first week as Matt takes home MVP on the night with 17 points, closely followed by Tom with 15, and then Andy and Keith tying for 3rd with 14.5.
Next week’s games are Batman ’66, Black Knight, Captain Fantastic, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Fire!
Tip to new players check out PAPA’s (Professional Amateur Pinball Association) Youtube channel for a ton of video tutorials and tips on how to play certain games. You will be amazed and how quickly they can help you improve and a lot of them are just entertaining.

Tonight is week 1 of our Spring Season 2017! Starts at 7:30 down at Main Street Amusements! Games are listed in the picture below, and they also serve as the Selfie League games this month so take some pictures of those scores during practice time as well in case you do awesome.
Also congrats to Matt Peace for an awesome showing finishing as Runner-Up in the “B” Division down at the Louisville Arcade Expo this past weekend!
Tom Vandenberg came up with a huge game 5 on Captain Fantastic last night at the finals for February’s Selfie League and clinched victory. Tommy Skinner came in second, Keith Alyea third, and Dan St. John in 4th. Results have been submitted and approved by the IFPA.
The games for March’s Selfie League are Big Indian, Big Lebowski, Black Knight, Ghostbusters, and Tri-Zone! You can start playing those games tonight and get those scores submitted at anytime before the end of the month! GET REGISTERED!
Also remember that next week is the first week of league for Spring Season 2017! Guess what? The games for the first week of the season are also our Selfie League Games so get on down to MSA and practice this week, submit those scores for Selfie League, and then kick everyone’s ass next week!

Don’t forget you are competing for WPPR Points as well as the coveted tokens prizes provided by MSA $20 to first, $10 to second, and $5 to third, 4th….well play better next time! Score sheet will be at the arcade and I will be working next door at DT Kirby’s if anyone needs anything. Good luck!
So here are the standings for February Selfie League as of right now! Tonight is the last night to make any score submissions and finals is tomorrow night at 7:30. Remember it’s 5 games scored 3,2,1,0 for finals. I can’t attend tomorrow night, but I will be working next door at DT Kirby’s if anything is needed, and will make sure there is a paper there to help with score keeping. As of right now finals will be Matt, Keith, Tom, and Kyle. I will update here and Facebook as soon as I hear anyone else can’t attend or scores change.

Well the GIF says it all! March 7th Lafayette Pinball League Spring Season starts at 7:30 PM at Main Street Amusements! We had a few new players join us for our monthly tournament this past Tuesday, thank you Terry, Andy, and Kyle for coming out, and we hope to have them with us again in less than two weeks for our new season. Please help out the newcomers whenever possible to make them feel welcomed, and in that time be sure to invite a few new friends to come and join us.
As always league remains free to join and you just have to play for the games we play each week. Below are some more pictures that you can feel free to use to help advertise and recruit some players to league.
Reminder that tomorrow night at 8:00 PM we will have our monthly 3-strikes knockout tournament at Main Street Amusements! $5 entry fee to play in the tournament and all money is paid back out to the top 4 finishers. Random opponents on random machines, play until there is only one person left. Oh and don’t forget the incredibly valuable and not quite explainable WPPR points that determine your world and state rankings! Come on down for a good time and try not to get knocked out!
Also in other awesome news The Big Lebowski is back up and operational so don’t be surprised if you are lucky enough to get paired up with someone on that machine tomorrow night and Batman ’66 has new code as well! MSA is always spoiling us! See you all there!
