Secondly congrats to Travis Kearney on winning the February Selfie Tournament last night! The battle was closely contested as it came down to all players having 3 strikes heading into the last couple of games. Travis finished at the top, Casey Taylor in 2nd, Tom Vandenberg in 3rd, and Michael Alexander in 4th. Thanks to all 17 players who put up scores for the month of February. Look to play Split Second and World Cup Soccer for March! Both games are still having some gremlins sorted out but are playable currently and will only get better throughout the month. You can now post your scores to Matchplay, you can write them down on the official score sheets that are attached to the games with magnetic clipboards, or you can just text them to me 574-596-2668. Spring is in the Air!

Spring Season Poster 2018

Spring Pinball League that is! Who knows if we will ever see flowers this year with the way the weather has been, but you can still count on the blossoming of multiballs and jackpots down at Main Street Amusements. Yes, it is true that we just wrapped up our Winter League, but starting right back up allows us to finish our season before Memorial Day and take a nice long summer break. We even have a freshly updated logo for the Spring Season.

Games for week 1 of Spring League are Attack from Mars, Black Knight, Game of Thrones, Spanish Eyes, and Total Nuclear Annihilation.

LPL Spring 2018 Week 1 Games

I know it is a short turn around but if anyone has ideas for improvements for the season please let me know. Otherwise, we will run things just like winter league. An eight week season, two lowest weeks dropped, top half in A division, bottom half in B division. As always feel free to invite friends to come down and try it out.

Week 6 Results, Week 7 & 8 Survey, Finals Preferences, Please Respond ASAP :-)

Hey guys and gals, we had another great turnout and some average play as the games seemed to be kicking everyone’s butt last night haha. Hopefully everyone still had a pretty good time. MVP on the night goes to Mr. Dan St. John bringing home 16.5 points, followed up closely by Andy and Rick each scoring 15. Full results and standings are below.

With that being said there are no games to announce for week 7 or 8 yet because at this point in the season we have now played every game at MSA at least once during the course of our season. It is up to the players now to choose what games you most want to play for weeks 7 & 8. I have made a survey using Google Forms, simply select the 10 games you would like to play the most over the next two weeks and that is what we will play. The survey also contains a questions about what format you would like our finals to be in on May 23rd. The last several years we have just done one bracket, but with so many players this season I thought it may be better to go back to splitting into two divisions like we have in some previous seasons, anyway I will leave it up to a vote. Survey can be completed directly below, or you can click here. You can also view the results when you complete the survey to see what games it looks like we will be playing.

As always any questions or concerns just let me know. I’ll announce the game choices on Monday morning so anyone who wants to get down to MSA for some practice on Monday will still have time. See you all next week!

Week 4 Results & Week 5 Games Announced!

We had an awesome turnout last night, probably our biggest group in a few seasons. Thanks to all the new members this season who have come out, I hope you are enjoying the league. Newest members to join up last night were Alyssa, Rick, and Joe…that makes 8 new members to the league this season! I think at this point we are going to have to give out a Rookie of the Season award. Below are the full results from last night. Group winners on the evening were Matt, Keith, Andy, Terry, and Rick. Overall standings are up, and since we are halfway through the season now your two lowest weeks will be dropped from your scores at this point on through the rest of the season. Also remember you must participate in 4 out of 8 weeks to play in the finals at the end of the season. If our numbers stay up I think we will split into an A & B division for the league championships. We can discuss that in the weeks to come.

LPL spring 2017 week 4 results

Below are the games for next week, 4/11/2017, Star Trek, The Walking Dead, Tron Le, Captain Fantastic, and Harlem Globetrotters.

Aerosmith Launch Party/Tournament

Hey Everyone! A good friend of the Lafayette Pinball League, Mark, has purchased a brand new Aerosmith pinball machine from Stern Pinball. He is having two launch tournaments this coming weekend. Friday’s launch party is from 5PM-11PM central time zone at his arcade, Chicago Street Pinball Arcade, in Joliet, IL.

Information and details for Joliet event can be found on the Facebook event page.

Information and details for the Champaign event can be found on the Facebook event page.

I got to stop by and check the game out yesterday and was really impressed with how the game played so I strongly encourage anyone looking for something fun to do Friday night to go and check it out. Mark also has around 30 other pinball machines at the arcade as well including Wizard of Oz, Rob Zombie Spookshow International, X-men LE, White Water, and many others that we don’t have access to around Lafayette and its all you can play for $15 with a few of the games there on loan costing $1 to play, or 3 games for $2.

Details for Sunday’s event which will take place in Champaign, IL will be posted to Chicago Street Pinball Arcade’s Facebook page so go and check it out and give them a “like” so you can get the latest news from their events.
