Finals for Winter Season are tonight at 7:30 PM! Tomorrow night finals for January Selfie League, currently a 3-way tie for 4th place so the Amigos and/or St. John better improve some scores tonight to earn their place in the finals.

Also went ahead and got February selfie league games set up on matchplay, so as of tomorrow night you will be able to start submitting scores for those games, they are listed below.

Hey guys so……kind of forgot to get the awards from fall season ordered in time for presentation before finals tomorrow night, so to Matt Peace and Tom Vandenberg, I apologize. On the positive note they should be here by the end of the week and possibly even Wednesday so I could have them at selfie league finals. I did update the look of our awards for something a bit different that will be customized for with our league logo. Hopefully you guys like them, and if not just let me know and we can change it up again next season! (aka the awards that will be for whoever wins tomorrow night)

In case you somehow forgot tomorrow night is league finals! $10 entry fee gets you a chance to claim the grand prize! Remember finals night takes a bit longer so be on time and if you plan on winning plan to be there late.

Also tonight and tomorrow night are the last chances to improve your scores for selfie league! Finals for January selfie league are Wednesday night! Here are the standings.

Hey everyone! Just a reminder that you have 5 days left to get those selfie league scores submitted for the month of January! The games are Star Trek, Cybernaut, Laser Cue, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Harlem Globetrotters.

Remember that to receive points for the selfie league you now must participate in the finals which will be next Wednesday, February 1st at 7:30 PM. The finals format is now also changed to include four of the games from the month instead of three games like it previously did, the 5th unused game will be used to settle any ties. The person finishing in 1st still drives the bus for A Group, 5th for B Group, and 9th for C group. Hope to see some more players for finals this month.

Lafayette Pinball League wrapped up the regular season last night after 10 grueling weeks of qualifying. Finishing at the top of the heap is Keith Alyea who will head into next week’s finals as the #1 seed in the tournament. The rest of the finishing positions can be seen below along with last nights results. 

Following IFPA’s newest rules you had to have participated in at least 5 out of the 10 weeks of regular season to play in the finals next week, this will leave us with 11 competitors vying for the coveted award. Reminder for the finals tournament there is a $10 entry fee. The money collected is used to purchase awards for the top 2 finishers as well as prize money for the top finishers as well. The tournament is run in double elimination format, and each match is best of 3 throughout both the winners and losers bracket. That means even a loss in the first round does not eliminate you from coming all the way back and still having a chance at ultimate victory in the finals. Matt is looking to continue his reign as champion, while Tom, Keith, and Tommy all hope to reclaim their former glory, and several others strive for their first shot at championship gold! We are exactly one month out and it appears our bracket is relatively set for the Indiana IFPA SCS Tournament on February 11th, 2017 @ Main Street Amusements! We are still waiting to hear back from one more person that could move the seeds around a bit, but wanted to get this posted out there for everyone as soon as possible. Online Bracket 

Below is a sample score card.

Each match will be a best-of-seven. The higher seeded player will have choice of machine or position for the 1st game, with the loser of each subsequent game having choice of machine or order, until someone has won 4 games. A machine may not be played more than once in the same match unless there are less than 7 machines available. If that is the case, only after all machines have been chosen can either player select that game to be played for a second time within the same match. Once a player verbally announces their game choice, or chooses position, that decision will be locked in and cannot be changed.

Each player will have the opportunity for 30 seconds of practice time before starting every game of every match. This is to ensure that both players have a chance to get familiar with the machine.

The winner of the match advances to the next round, while the loser is eliminated.

The 3rd/4th place Consolation Final will be played as a best-of-three instead of a best-of-seven like all other rounds, using the same rules. All other finishing positions will also be played out in best-of-three matches to also determine 5th through 16th place.

As of right now the plan is for most games on the floor of Main Street Amusements be eligible as a game selection with the exceptions of Star Wars: Episode 1, Medieval Madness, and The Big Lebowski. The lineup at MSA is subject to change pending any additions, or subtractions of games as well as the possibility that a game has any sort of playability issues.

Just a reminder that we are still running selfie league this year under the new IFPA rules. This means that we no longer receive points for our qualifying games, but we do still get points for participating in the finals night, which is always the first Wednesday of the following month, in this case February 1st. There is only one week left for Lafayette Pinball League Winter 2017 Season! Week 10 will be played on 1/24/2017 as next Tuesday will be our first Monthly Tournament of the year instead. Below are the results from week 9 and the standings as we head into the final week!
