Congrats to Matt on winning the April 3-Strikes Tournament brought to us by Lafayette Brewing Company. Matt finished the night with only 1 strike, Tommy came in 2nd, Keith in 3rd, and Joe and Dan tied for 4th. A huge thank you again to Lafayette Brewing Company for their awesome sponsorship of the event. The donated prizes were greatly appreciated, and the scotch eggs before the tournament were delicious!

Reminder that next Tuesday we are back to our regular league schedule and we start at 7:30 PM.

Lastly Pinball at the Zoo starts tomorrow and runs through Saturday up in Kalamazoo and it is an awesome show and tournament. There is a main tournament, a classics, a kids, and even just daily tournaments on Thursday and Friday. Lots of great games will be up there including the new Alien game by Heighway Pinball so go and check it out!

So I realize we have a lot of new people and some of you may not be aware of the “Selfie-League” that we run every month at Main Street Amusements. The basic concept is that 5 games per month are designated the selfie games, you can play anytime you want, snap a picture of your score when you are done and text/email it to me, or submit it online yourself via Matchplay Events. They even provide an awesome guide to help you out if you get confused, and I am more than happy to help you out if you need anything.

Anyway this month’s games are Harlem Globetrotters, Laser Cue, Spanish Eyes, Tron LE, and Twilight Zone.  Some of these games we have played in league and I have already entered your scores into Matchplay. Here are the standings as of right now. 

You can play up to the very last day of the month to submit scores. The first Wednesday night of the following month we then have a finals night where the top 4 players face off against each other in group matchplay format on the games from the month. The top 3 finishers win tokens provided by Dan to be used at MSA. We will play finals in groups of 4 so the more people that show up the more fun we can have, and the more WPPR (World Pinball Player Ranking) points you can earn. Again if you have any questions at all just let me know and we hope that a few of you will participate in the months to come.

Pinball at the Zoo is a smaller pinball show and awesome tournament that takes place in Kalamazoo, MI this weekend. The show starts Thursday afternoon and runs until Saturday evening. It is held at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and there is a ton of space so you don’t feel over crowded the whole time like at a lot of shows. The tournament is run by the Harmon family and they do an awesome job of making sure it runs smooth. On top of that all the money the tournament raises is going to Project Pinball which puts pinball machines in youth hospitals for the children to play. If you are curious about checking out a show I strongly recommend this one as a good starting point, it was my first show several years ago and I make sure I can attend every year now.

If anyone decides to make the trip up I will be staying at my family’s lake house which is about 30 minutes away and you are welcome to join.

I will be bringing my Viking pinball machine to be used in the tournament, and also my new Alien machine to be used in the free play area. I’m renting a cargo van for the weekend so if anyone needs a game brought back to the Lafayette area just let me know. Hope some of you can make it up and have a good time.

Reminder that next Tuesday is our Monthly 3-Strikes Tournament brought to you by none other than Lafayette Brewing Company! They have donated an awesome prize package with awards for both finalists and anyone else who participates as well. Remember there is a $5 entry fee with all money going back to the top 4 finishers, you play head to head on a random machine and simply keep playing until you have 3 losses. Hope that we have our largest one yet, and again big thank you to Lafayette Brewing Company! Post tourney drinks shall be consumed there! And thanks to everyone who visited LBC before league last night as well!
